Stop Guessing Your Profit. Know Your Numbers Before You Scale.

Every online seller asks the same question at some point: "Am I actually making money?" Sales are coming in and orders are shipping, but after marketplace commission, shipping fees, GST, packaging, ad spend, and returns, how much is really left? Barmeto's Profit & Loss Calculator gives you that answer in seconds. It is built for Indian e-commerce sellers who list on Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra, Ajio, Shopify, or WooCommerce and want clear per-product numbers without maintaining complicated spreadsheets.

How Profit & Loss Calculator Works

You don't need to be an accountant. All you need are your product costs and selling details.

  1. Enter your cost price. Add what you pay for the product, including manufacturing or purchase cost, packaging, and any inbound expenses.
  2. Add your selling price. Enter the price your customer pays on the marketplace.
  3. Include marketplace charges. Add commission, shipping or fulfilment fees, payment gateway charges, GST, and any other deductions that apply to your order.
  4. Factor in returns and ad spend. Account for return or RTO losses and advertising costs so the result reflects reality, not just the best case.
  5. Click Calculate. Instantly see your profit or loss per unit, total profit for your quantity, and your margin percentage. Change a price or a cost and recalculate to compare scenarios side by side.

The Formulas Behind Your Results

The calculator uses the standard profit layers, so you always know where your money goes:

  • Gross Profit = Revenue − Cost of Goods Sold
  • Operating Profit = Gross Profit − Operating Expenses (rent, salaries, electricity, ads, packaging)
  • Net Profit = Operating Profit − Interest and Taxes

Together, these show how well you price your product, how well you run your operations, and what you truly take home.

Margins That Tell the Full Story

Raw rupee figures only tell half the story. Percentages let you compare products, months, and categories fairly:

  • Gross Profit Margin = (Gross Profit ÷ Revenue) × 100
  • Operating Profit Margin = (Operating Profit ÷ Revenue) × 100
  • Net Profit Margin = (Net Profit ÷ Revenue) × 100

Retail and marketplace businesses usually run on thinner margins than service businesses because of inventory, commissions, and shipping costs. Knowing your margin helps you set realistic targets and spot SKUs that look busy but earn very little.

Why Sellers Need This Tool

Many sellers judge success by order volume or by checking their bank balance, but neither shows what each product actually earns. A product with high sales can still be losing money once fees and returns are counted. Profit & Loss Calculator helps you:

  • Price with confidence. Test different selling prices before you list or run a discount.
  • Catch loss-making SKUs early. Spot products that quietly eat into your profit and fix or drop them.
  • Plan your budget. Compare actual expenses against planned costs before small problems become big ones.
  • Set better goals. Track profit over time, spot patterns, and forecast future expenses.
  • Keep your team aligned. When partners or team members share one clear set of numbers, there are fewer disputes about where the money went.

Built for Real Marketplace Sellers

Whether you run a small home-based store or manage hundreds of SKUs for multiple brands, the calculator fits your workflow. Wholesalers, resellers, D2C brands, and catalog agencies in Surat, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru use it to check margins before launching a product, running a sale, or negotiating with suppliers.

Think Beyond the Sale: Risk and Reward

Smart sellers evaluate potential profit against potential loss before they commit, whether they're ordering bulk stock, launching a new product, or putting money into ads. A simple rule many experienced business owners follow is to aim for a reward at least twice the risk. When you already know your figures, you are less likely to panic during a slow month or keep pushing a losing product. Calculating first turns decisions from guesswork into a disciplined, data-driven strategy.

Simple, Transparent Pricing

Profit & Loss Calculator is free to use. Calculate as many products and scenarios as you like, with no watermarks and no hidden charges.

How to Use

Step 1: Download Your Marketplace Payment Sheet

Open the payments or settlement section of your Meesho, Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra or JioMart seller panel and download the report for the period you want to check, as Excel or CSV.

Pick a date range and every SKU lands in either the profit list or the loss list, month-wise, with loss-making SKUs sorted to the top.

What is Barmeto Profit & Loss?

Barmeto Profit & Loss is a free, browser-based SKU-wise profit and loss calculator for ecommerce sellers. It reads marketplace payment sheets, subtracts product cost and expenses, and splits the catalogue into a profit list and a loss list, month-wise.

Who is it built for?

Indian marketplace sellers selling on Meesho, Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra and JioMart — from home sellers with a few dozen SKUs to apparel, saree, kurti, footwear and home decor brands in Surat, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi, and agencies reconciling payouts for several brands.

What problem does it solve?

Marketplace payout totals hide which products actually earn money. Returns, RTO, fee changes and ad spend can turn a best-seller into a loss-maker. The calculator shows net profit or loss per SKU so sellers can reprice, cut cost or delist.

Is any software installation required?

No. It runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebooks, and works with the Excel and CSV payment reports marketplaces already provide.
